Rick Krueger is a seasoned executive with a proven record of success in both the public and private sectors. During six terms in the Minnesota Legislature, Krueger demonstrated his command of public policy as Chairman of the Committees on International Trade & Technology and State Government Finance. He earned the respect of colleagues from both sides of the aisle while serving as Speaker Pro Tempore of the Minnesota House and Assistant Majority Leader.
Moving on to the private sector, Rick served five years as the President of the Minnesota High Technology Association where he led the effort to attract new high-tech industry and promote technological innovation at all levels of business.
Krueger then went on to become the Executive Director of the Minnesota Transportation Alliance where he was a driving force behind legislative and electoral efforts to increase state funding for roads, bridges and all forms of public transit. As a result of his leadership, ongoing transportation funding increased by a net one billion dollars per year. The greatest amount in any state over the last decade. Highly regarded for his advocacy of comprehensive solutions, very few individuals can match Rick’s over-all understanding of these complex transportation issues.
Most recently, Rick directed the government affairs division of Global Traffic Technologies, a world leader in traffic signal technology and a pioneer in Intelligent Transportation Systems. He also served on Center for Transportation Studies Executive Committee and currently serves on The Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Guidestar Board, a body that focuses on the implementation of ITS solutions.
Krueger has earned several college degrees including a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Minnesota.
